The marketing exercise to promote Dung Quat is an initiative of the Quang Ngai Province People’s Committee.
The airlines that use Chu Lai airport can also benefit by airing commercials at no charge on Quang Ngai’s television and radio stations and placing free ads in the province’s newspaper and on its website.
The responsibility for picking up passengers has been delegated to the Quang Ngai Department of Transport and Communication.
There are five pick-up and drop-off points - 332 Phan Dinh Phung Street, outside the waiting room at the Northern Quang Ngai Bus Station, the motor registry in Son Tinh town, the town hall in Chau O, and the Doc Soi-Dung Quat crossroads.
The Vietnam Air Services Company, better known as Vasco, is getting in on the act by almost halving the airfare from Ho Chi Minh City to Chu Lai. The discount price of VND700,000 will apply until December 31.
Vasco is also planning to increase the number of HCMC-Chu Lai flights to two or three a week, and open a service between Chu Lai and Ha Noi sometime in the not-too-distant future.
