A pair of trains carrying passengers on a new route from Hanoi to China’s Nanning will start January 1, said an official from the Vietnam Railways Corporation.
The train, with six luxurious carriages, will stop at six stations, including three in Vietnam, Gia Lam in Hanoi , Bac Giang in Bac Giang province and Dong Dang in Lang Son province.
The new 400km-long route will start at Gia Lam Station at 7pm and arrive in Nanning at 8am the next day. The train from Nanning will leave at 5pm and arrive at Gia Lam station 4am the following morning. It will take about three hours to go through the border process.
A single ticket will cost $38. The price of fares will be reduced in the future, said the head of Vietnam Railways Corporation’s Transport Business Department, Nguyen Huu Tuyen.
