HCMC plans to hold annual largest tourism events

Two annual largest tourism events of Ho Chi Minh City, including Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day 2018 and the 14th International Travel Expo- ITE HCMC 2018 will be held in April and September respectively.

The Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City made an annoucement at a press conference which was held in the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2018 taking place in Hanoi from March 29 - April 1.
Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day 2018 themed "Exploring Summer" will be organized at the 23/9 Park in district 1 from April 12-15. The event is expected to attract around 150 display booths of travel agents, hotels and representatives from tourism promotion agencies of cities and provinces nationwide to publicize their brands and offer tourist products to local and international travelers.
Various activities will be held during the festival, such as the award ceremony honoring 100 outstanding tourist brands, singing contest, cultural exchanges between localities throughout the country.
Meanwhile the 14th International Travel Expo- ITE HCMC 2018 will take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7 on September 6-8.
This year's event will focus on expanding major markets, including North American, Europe and ASEAN, making a breakthrough in the city's tourism promotion in the 2018-2010 period, said Director of the municipal Department of Tourism La Quoc Khanh.
One of the highlight acitivities of the expo is the strengthening awareness and developing smart tourism, applying advanced technology and installing travel apps on smartphones which help tourists choose travel destinations and services and make their trip easier, he added.
The ITE HCMC 2018 will draw hundreds of local and foreign companies of more than 40 countries and territories featuring over 300 stalls, Brunei, Cambodia, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Holland, Russia, Turkey and others.
