Hoi An among world’s most wallet-friendly destinations

 Hoi An ancient town in the central province of Quang Nam has been given the 11th place among the 19 cheapest holiday destinations in the world in 2019 in the annual Holiday Money report compiled by Post Office Travel Money.

In this report, the Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer compares the costs of eight tourist staple items – a meal for two, a cup of coffee, a bottle of beer, a Coca-Cola, a glass of wine, a bottle of water, suncream, and insect repellant – across 42 resorts and cities around the world.

Accordingly, Hoi An costs tourists only US$86.87 for a holiday, including $2.35 for a cup of filter coffee, $3.3 for a bottle of local beer, $2.35 for a bottle or can of Coca-Cola/Pepsi, and $6.6 for a glass of wine (175ml) at a café or bar.

In this Vietnamese destination, visitors only have to spend $0.71  on a 1.5l bottle of mineral water, $5.65 on suncream, and $2.35 on insect repellent at a supermarket.

A three-course evening meal for two, including a bottle of house wine, costs them just $63.56 here.

The three cheapest destinations in the list are Sunny Beach of Bulgaria ($45.01 ), Marmaris of Turkey ($56.52), and Algarve of Portugal ($62.61).
