In addition to Cam Thanh, other communes such as Cam Chau, Son Phong, Cam Pho, Cam Kim all faced water crisis and salinization.
Director of the city’s water company Nguyen Viet Thanh admitted that at present, tap water supply has been just weak just approximately 15,000 cubic meter a day.
However, the main culprit of water shortage in Cam Thanh Commune was the boom of hotels and restaurants.
Moreover, residents directly pumped water from the main water pipe.
In order to temporarily solve the problem, the company will seek the help of Trang Nhat water company in the central province of Quang Nam’s Dien Ban district, director Thanh said.
However, for the long-term solution, the company will upgrade the water pipe which is scheduled in July.
