The Expo is not only a good opportunity for all local and foreign tour operators and travel agents to meet and exchange diversified travel products, but also a good environment to promote lasting political, economic and commercial relations among countries in the region.
The exhibition is attended by more than 140 local and foreign tour operators and travel agents. Among them, were 33 international exhibitors from 10 foreign countries, who came to study on tourism market in Viet Nam.
In addition, 59 qualified buyers in 13 countries were also invited to participate in the Buyers’ seminar “Viet Nam Destination Market” on August 3.

“The growth in number of exhibitors and international buyers for the ITE-HCMC 2006 shows that Viet Nam is catching international attention. This will grow quickly for the next 5 years after entry into the WTO,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Lap Quoc, Director of the HCMC Department of Tourism.
“The ITE-HCMC 2006’s has increased year on year by 30%. The expo focuses on sea travel, MICE tours and the “Central Vietnam’s Heritage Road,” Mr. La Quoc Khanh, vice Director of the HCMC Department of Tourism added.

Organizers hope that local travel companies, hotels, tourist service suppliers and visitors will benefit from the Expo through exposure to the world of international tourism development.
The Expo also hosts a slew of traditional performances and cultural dances to excite visitors.
The ITE-HCMC 2006 is run by Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Ministry of Trade and People’s Committee of HCMC. It is jointly organized by the HCMC Department of Tourism, Vinaxed and Binet Exhibition Pte Ltd.
