Int’l tourist arrivals to VN increase 21.3 percent in 11 months

More than 14.1 million foreign tourists traveled to Vietnam over the last 11 months, up 21.3 percent year on year, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

The country saw an increase of 8 percent in international visitors in November against the previous month and up 11 percent compared to the same period last year.
Foreign visitors to Vietnam arriving via air was up 15.3 percent, while the number of tourists coming by land was 64.4 percent. The number of travelers coming by sea witnessed a 11.3 per cent decrease due to the impact of storms Toraji and Usagi.
On November 29, the HCM City Department of Tourism and the municipal Tourism Association along with travel enterprises announced the tourism promotion program from December to the end in 2019.
Accordingly, visitors have chance to enjoy discounts of 10-50 per cent on City tours; tours to Can Gio Forest and Cu Chi Tunnels; Sai Gon river tour; hop on- hop off bus tour; Sai Gon food tour; and tours to the Mekong Delta.
The city’s tourism sector expects to receive the 7-millionth visitor in December.
