The Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Embassy on Thursday opened a “Vote-for-Ha Long” booth at the Daewoo Hotel in Ha Noi to promote Ha Long Bay as one of the seven New World Wonders.

Ha Long Bay’s natural beauty will be introduced to visitors through an exhibition of photos by two renowned photographers, Duong Minh Long and Hoai Linh. Visitors can also vote for the bay via a computer and Internet connection available at the booth.
At the opening ceremony, Minister for Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh and Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam Im Hong Jae caste their votes for Ha Long Bay.
Minister Anh called on Vietnamese and those outside the country to continue voting for the bay, twice recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site, to become a New World Wonder.
Mr. Im expressed his pleasure in joining hands with Viet Nam in its effort to promote Ha Long Bay as one of the New World Wonders. The success of the campaign will not only raise the pride of Vietnamese people in the bay, but can also attract more tourists to Viet Nam, bringing in economic benefits, he said.
The Korean Embassy has run a banner in Vietnamese on the website www.hanquocngaynay.com to advertise the bay since February 16. The banner helps users vote for Ha Long Bay. In the future, the embassy will create more activities to advertise the campaign among the Korean businesses and people living in Viet Nam.
The promotion will be concluded by the end of this year.
Ha Long Bay is currently in the leading position in the voting for the New World Wonders, followed by Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and Fansipan Moutain, all in Viet Nam, in the second and third places.
