Local carrier adds more flights to meet high demand on vacation

State-owned national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) yesterday announced it is increasing 545 flights on some domestic tourism routes to meet high demand on upcoming holidays the South Liberation Day on April 30 and May Day.

Accordingly, additional 513 flights will be made between from April 25 and May 4 on some high-demand domestic routes offering 332,472 seats, an increase of 27 percent compared to the usual time and a surge of 19 percent compared to the same period last year.

The flag carrier will offer 101 flights on its Hanoi – Da Nang; 48 flights on Hanoi –Dong Hoi route, 35 flights on Hanoi – Phu Quoc; 27 flights on Hanoi-Nha Trang;  106 flights for Ho Chi Minh City –Phu Quoc in the Mekong delta province of Kien Giang, 67 flights on HCMC-Da Nang;  and 64 flights for HCMC-Nha Trang.

In addition, the flag carrier will increase additional 33 flights on its Hanoi-HCMC; Hanoi-Quy Nhon; Hanoi-Tuy Hoa; 32 flights on other routes, including Ho Chi Minh City – Buon Ma Thuot in the highlands province of Dak Lak; HCMC-Da Lat in the highland province of Lam Dong; HCMC –Hue; HCMC Quy Nhon, and HCMC Vinh in the central Vietnam.

The flag carrier also increased 32 more flights on international routes from Hanoi and HCMC to Bankok,Hong Kong (China), Osaka, Narita, Busan, Siem Reap and one flight from the central city of Da Nang to Narita.
