Mekong Delta receives over 20 million visitors

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) cooperated with the People’s Committee of An Giang province to organize a conference on improving the effectiveness of agricultural tourism in the Mekong Delta on October 1.

According to VNAT, the region received more than 20 million visitors in nine months this year, showing an average increase of 9 percent per year.
The regional tourism industry saw a small number of long-stay tourists of 2 million.
The average amount of expenditure by a visitor in the Mekong Delta is averagely US$22 per day.
