One more train derailment on North-South railway

Freight train AH2 derailed at Suoi Kiet station, Tanh Linh district in the central province of Binh Thuan at 8:00 a.m yesterday, causing a major setback to the North-South express railway.

Head of Vietnam Railway (VNR) Pham Nguyen Chien said that though the North-South railway was reconnected four hours after the incident, it has caused a chaos in the railway.
Beforehand, freight train SBN1 had come off the track at My Ly – Quan Hanh station in the central province of Nghe An at 6:45 p.m. on February 18th, resulting in a contemporary setback in the North-South railway .
So far, there has been four derailments on the North-South railway including three freight trains and one passenger train from the beginning of the year. VNR representative said that poor railway infrastructure is one of the culprits of train derailments.
