Passengers under preferential policy to get cheap train tickets

The Government has issued a decision No 65//2018/ND-CP on railway law, including offering discounted train tickets to passengers under preferential treatment policy.

Accordingly, people who are Vietnamese heroic mothers, children with disabilities, disabled people, war veterans, wounded soldiers, the elderly will receive 30-90 percent discounts on train tickets, starting on July 1, 2018.
Passengers under preferential treatment policy can choose the biggest percentage discount among promotions that they receive.
In order to restrict speculation in train tickets, the station will only accept and release the tickets when passengers provide their identity card or other personal papers which have photographic identification.
Under the decision, tranposrt firms can aslo expand the kinds of passengers who will get benefits from their promotional programs.
