Korea’s G.O. Max I&D is waiting for approval from the Prime Minister to build a racecourse in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, an official of the Ministry of Planning and Investment has announced.
Mr. Phan Huu Thang, who heads the ministry’s foreign investment department, says the US$560-million project will be housed in Cao Minh commune in Phuc Yen and Ba Hien in Binh Xuyen District.
Since horse racing is a long established and popular sport in the world, it should be introduced into Viet Nam for the sake of the foreign investors and travelers who come here, according to Mr. Thang.
He says the project has strong support from various government ministries and other departments.
If approved, it will be one of the most modern racecourses in the world.
