On the occasion of the closing ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day on April 23, 2006, Sai Gon Giai Phong (SGGP) Newspaper awarded three best prizes for contributors to the "Tourism Forum".
Ms. Nguyen Thi To, Deputy-Editor-in-chief of the SGGP highly praised and awarded three readers including Tran Thuy Linh, Nguyen Sinh and Nguyen Huu Chuc for their valuable suggestions to Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism development.
Jointly held by the SGGP and the Ho Chi Minh Tourism Department, the Tourism Forum attracted 37 suggestions from interested readers, 12 of which were published by the SGGP during March, 2006.

On the occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee also granted Certificates of Merit to 16 organizations, among which was the SGGP Newspaper, for their efforts to promote the city’s tourism image.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City's Tourism Department La Quoc Khanh, also Head of the city’s Tourism Day’s Organizing Board, highly praised the SGGP’s success in holding the forum, upholding the important role as a bridge between the tourism agencies and consumers.

Talking about the second Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day held from April 21 to 24 at Dam Sen Cultural Park, Mr. La Quoc Khanh told the SGGP Newspaper reporter that the three-day event has created a lot of positive influence and maximized the city’s tourism potential, stimulating people’s demand for tourism via interesting presentations and diversified promotion programs offered by 54 participating tourism agencies.
Reportedly, over 100,000 visitors have joined the Tourism Day to learn about tourism, especially new promising tours. Among 54 participating tourism agencies, 14 were granted with "Attractive Counters" title by the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department at the closing ceremony of the Tourism Day.
