VNAT calls for community's awareness of civilized behavior to tourists

The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has just released a document requiring functional and relevant departments to instruct travel enterprises and the community in raising their awareness of civilized behavior to tourists.

According to VNAT, foreign arrivals to Vietnam in the first seven month reached over 5.5 million, up 24 percent compared to the last period, with the highest rise in Chinese, Korean and Western markets

The VNAT asked local authorities to provide tour guide services, give detailed information about destinations, install auto voice-over system and offer travel guides and brochures in various languages.

It also required relevant department to open tourist guide training courses, aiming to improve the tour guides' foreign language abilities and grant tour-guide certificates.
