Two Vietnamese scientists win 2017 Ta Quang Buu Awards

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) presented the 2017 Ta Quang Buu awards to two scientists for their outstanding achievements in chemicals and mathematics in Hanoi on May 18.

The event marked the Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18) was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh.

The two winning scientists were Associate Professor Nguyen Sum in the fields of mathematics (University Quy Nhon) and Professor Phan Thanh Son Nam in the fields of chemistry (Polytechnic University, National University of Ho Chi Minh City).

Established in 2014, the annual event honors scientists for outstanding research work and achievements in natural science and engineering. This promotes scientific research and science and technology at the international level, paving the way for the country's science and technology integration and development.
