The State Bank of Vietnam recently announced that non-performing loans have declined for the second month to 4.46 percent as of June this year.
Bad debts have decreased at a faster pace compared to the previous month. In particular, non-performing loans accounted for 4.67 percent of total loans by end April. The figure slid to 4.65 percent by end of May and fell to 4.46 percent by end of June.
The latest data on bad debts is based on monthly reports of credit institutions.
In related news, only 19,700 taels out of 20,000 taels of gold were sold at the 56th gold auction held by the State Bank on August 28. The highest bid was VND38.25 million per tael, and the lowest bid at VND38.18 million per tael.
