The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources Environment announced August 13 it would look into the construction of a long-delayed golf course in District 2 and an attached hospital to consider separating them.
The Saigon Development and Investment Corporation (SDI)’s Rach Chiec golf course, sports and housing complex, or An Phu golf course, has been delayed for 10 years, leading to severe cost overruns.
The planned hospital is what 584 Traffic Works Exploitation and Construction Investment Company want to build.
The department has agreed to consider this and will study the project’s legal status, processes, site clearance, compensation, assistance for resettling land-owners and other issues.
The inspection will be completed in 30 days from the date of announcement.
