The forcast was based on the strong growth of the Vietnamese e-commerce market, the company said.
Currently, up to 60 percent of Vietnamese people are internet users who do online shopping. Nielsen Vietnam’s statistics has shown that more than 60 percent of female and 40 percent of male buy commodities in the Internet. The age of online shoppers are from 25 to 29, accounting for 55 percent.
Most online shoppers are unmarried people and 55 percent of online shoppers are clerical workers.
Presently, Vietnam has 35.8 million internet users and the figure of Vietnamese internet users annually increases by 11 percent.
76 percent of online shoppers prefer cash on delivery (COD), the sale of goods by mail order where payment is made on delivery rather than in advance; however, Nielsen Vietnam said more people buying things on the Internet pay through banks.
