The world's largest e-market place, eBay, has expanded into Viet Nam by launching a new interface in Vietnamese at www.eBay.vn.
The launch will act as a catalyst for trading opportunities by supporting local business to conduct e-transactions as well as introducing Vietnamese products to customers worldwide, said Sam McDonagh, Director of eBay Southeast Asia.
The director said that due to a high rate of Internet users, which accounts for 17 percent of the country's total population, together with its rapid economic development, the Vietnamese e-market is forecast to generate revenues of over US$40 million per year.
This market is projected to grow at 40 percent every year, McDonagh said.
According to experts, 38 markets have so far joined eBay, drawing more than 233 million users worldwide and posted a turnover of US$1.25 billion in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of 23 percent.
