FDI Spurts Up Five Fold

113 FDI projects worth UD$9.9 billion were licensed in Viet Nam in September alone, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

In the first nine months of 2008, 885 projects with a combined capital of US$ 56.2 billion were licensed.

Although the number of projects only rises 80%, their registered capital is five times higher year-on-year.

The country attracted US$57.12 billion in new and added capital in the past nine months, up 5 times compared to the same period last year.

The amount of FDI capital implemented in the period rose 37.3% as against the same period last year, reaching US$8.1 billion.
