Investment Promotion in Japan to Start

The Viet Nam – Japan Center and the Ministry of Investment and Planning will organize an investment promotion trip to Japan from 19 to 25 Feb, 2006, according to the Ministry.

During the trip, Deputy Minister Nguyen Bich Dat will present the latest policies of foreign investment attraction of Viet Nam to 500 Japanese businesses of different industries.

In 2005, Viet Nam’s export turnover to Japan reached around US$4.5 billion, increasing 18% from 2004. The two-way trade turnover is expected to reach more than US$10 billion in 2006-2007.

Early 2006, the Japanese biggest bank Mitsubishi Tokyo UFJ signed a cooperation agreement with the Vietnamese government in order to boost investment plans of Japanese enterprises and raise capital for Japanese businesses operating in Viet Nam.
