Vietnamese and Russian enterprises found import-export opportunities within the framework of the Ho Chi Minh City trade and tourism promotion conference in Russia on September 13- 25 under leading of Deputy Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong.
46 Vietnamese firms and 10 enterprises under the city’s price subsidized program from medicines, construction materials, tourism, hotels and restaurants, and financial service took part in the conference such as Minh Tien, Huong Mi, Tan Vuong, Vinh Thanh Dat Joint Stock Company, Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co-op), Saigon Trading Corporation (Satra) and others.
They well prepared their products, brochures and CDs to showcase the partners at the event.
Through the Ho Chi Minh City trade and tourism promotion conference, the organizational board wants to create condition and opportunities to boost further export and import, advertise their products and brand names to the traditional partners.
During a 13 day conference, Russian businessmen offered preferential interest to products of Vietnam.
Earlier, Deputy Chairwoman of the HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong had a working session with Vice Governor of Saint Petersburg Sergey N.Movchan on September 18.
At the meeting, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong announced negotiation result with the traditional partner at Moscow capital through cooperative agreements; and expressed her desire that Vietnamese enterprises will continue to come into cooperative agreements in future after Saigon Co.op and Satra Corporation signed successfully cooperative agreement with Russian retail colossus Magnit.
In order to achieve the results, Vietnam’s side needs to have support from ministries, departments and agencies of cities and districts in Russia.
At present, Russia is a large market and a traditional trading partner of Vietnam; therefore, demand of consuming Vietnamese goods is large volume, stressed Vice Governor Sergey N. Movchan.
Mr. Sergey N. Movchan appreciated Vietnamese goods with best quality and plentiful design of packaging and acceptable price in the textile and garment and agricultural industry.
After the event, Deputy Governor Sergey N. Movchan is scheduled to visit Ho Chi Minh City in December, 2015.
