Flower Exports to China on the Rise

The value of Viet Nam’s flower exports to China as of September reached US$12,000 per week, up 18-20% from August, according to the Center of Trade Information.

Several kinds of flowers coming from the Central Highlands’ city of Da Lat—like roses, lilies, and orchids—are popular in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai. Daisy varietals from Ha Noi and Hai Phong are also popular in China.

Meanwhile, vegetable exports in September were still low, being that vegetables are not a major crop in the region. The average volume of vegetables exported per week is 25 tons.

Major vegetables exported to China include kale, lettuce, French beans, onions, green squash, and mushrooms.
