Dairy shops in Ho Chi Minh City said that 3A Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, the authorized distributor of the US dairy producer, Abbott Laboratories, in Vietnam, raised the prices of some products by 9 percent on August 31.

Accordingly, a 400-gram-can and a 900-gram-can of Ensure milk powder costs VND218,500, and VND473,000 respectively.

At the beginning of last month, the company had also announced an increase of 8 percent in other seven products.

Meanwhile, although influenced by a rising foreign exchange rate, and high input, most local dairy producers, including Vinamilk, Nutifood, and Hancofood, continued to hold their prices to stabilize the market.
