The French Development Agency (AFD) has signed two financial support agreements with Vietnam to develop Da Nang City and Can Tho City urban areas, at a cost of 20.5 million euros.
The agreements were signed in Paris on November 22 within the framework of the France-Vietnam Council for Economic Development, held in Paris from November 21-25.
AFD will offer 500,000 euros in non-refundable aid to Vietnam for the project.
The financial package will help develop the two cities, implement socio-economic goals, deal with challenges of urban development and tackle climate change.
Since 2006, AFD has been the first to offer assistance in urban planning and development in Vietnam.
The agency’s total financial support to Vietnam has so far reached around 1,070 billion euros.
