Industrial production index increases 5.9 percent

Industrial production index was estimated to increase 5.9 percent in January compared to the same period last year, reported the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.

The highest growth industries include processing and manufacturing with 8.2 percent, electricity production and distribution 13.2 percent.  Mining industry reduced 4.2 percent.
Besides motor vehicles, beverage, textile, steel billets and equal angels, cattle feed and fresh milk also saw the index highly hike over the same period last year.
Quang Nam province posted the most increase of 59 percent, followed by Thai Nguyen with 20.6 percent, Hai Phong 15.7 percent, Hanoi 14.4 percent, Hai Duong 9.5 percent and Da Nang 9.4 percent.
Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province surged 8.2 percent, Binh Duong 8 percent, Vinh Phuc 7.6 percent, Can Tho city 5.9 percent, Ba Ria-Vung Tau 5.4 percent and Quang Ninh 3.4 percent.
