The International Furniture and Handicrafts Exhibition 2011 opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 5, attracting about 200 exhibitors.

The annual Expo, organized by the HCMC Department of Industry and Trade, acts like a bridge, connecting the furniture and handicrafts industry with international buyers, said a representative of the department.
On display at the 500 stalls will be indoor and outdoor furniture, interior decoration items, materials, accessories as well as bamboo and rattan furniture and handicrafts.
The event includes a seminar on ways to increase the volume of outdoor furniture and bamboo, rattan handicrafts to the Japanese market.
The Expo is being held at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre, 446 Hoang Van Thu Street, Tan Binh District until October 8.
