The Official Development Assistance (ODA) capital for Vietnam has reached US$80 billion in the period 1993-2013, reported the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
ODA assistance for the country has contributed in helping Vietnam move from poor country status to group of low-income countries in the past 20 years.
However, ODA capital proportion is not equally distributed among regions. The Red River Delta received the highest ODA capital of about US$10.42 billion, while the Central Highlands got US$1.36 billion.
Japan is now the biggest bilateral sponsor for Vietnam and the World Bank is the largest multilateral investor.
