Attending the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that the two projects will create motivation for the development of the Chan May – Lang Co economic zone, as well as the socio-economic development of the province and central region.

The Sai Gon – Chan May industrial and non-tariff zone is built on an area of 657 hectares with a total investment of VND1.3 trillion (US$74 million).

The provincial authorities and investors should take care of those residents who have had to moved and organize resettlements for them, Mr Dung said.

The Laguna Hue has been invested by a Singaporean group, Banyan Tree, with total capital of up to $875 million in an area of 280 hectares.

After completion, the area will have 2,000 rooms at seven high class hotels, 1,000 apartments, a shopping area and a golf course.
