Specifically, cargo loading from vessels and barges to yard and vice versa will increase 10 percent in Region 1 excluding Lach Huyen seaport, Hai Phong city. The charge will move up 50 percent for loading goods from vessels and barges to barges and container trucks at quays and vice versa.
Container loading from vessels to vessels, barges and trucks will rise 10 percent at Cai Mep-Thi Vai seaport complex.
Wharf service price to tourists will hike from US$0.99-1.1 to $2.5-3.5 a person a route.
The ministry’s representative said that the fee increase will not raise logistics costs but reclaim the amount of service revenue which seaports should have received because foreign shipping lines have collected these fees from vessel owners.
