Viet Nam Has US$1 Billion Invested Overseas

At present, Viet Nam has money invested in 200 overseas projects worth approximately US$1 billion, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has announced.

The majority of overseas investment by Vietnamese companies is in the industrial sector with 82 projects worth US$733 million.

The agriculture and forestry industry is the second most common point of investment, with 44 projects worth US$152 million.
All current projects are based in Laos, Russia, Algeria, Malaysia and Singapore.
Vietnam’s Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) has set up a US$30 million project to explore petroleum in Algeria and Malaysia, together with their partners they are currently mining enough oil to fill 5,100 barrels per day in Algeria and 3,100 barrels per day in Malaysia.
Petroleum Technical Services Company currently has US$23 million invested in Singapore.
