Vietnam' shrimp not sold below cost in US

That was answer by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Le Hai Binh to the press about U.S. anti-dumping tax on imported Vietnamese shrimp products on September 27.

The US Department of Commerce (DOC)’s decision to impose anti-dumping tax on Vietnamese shrimp products is unfair, goes against free trade spirit as well as the economic and trade relations between the two countries, and unsuitable with the VN-US comprehensive partnership, Mr. Binh said.

Vietnamese businesses neither sell shrimp at low prices nor threaten and cause damage to the US’s shrimp industry.

The two countries’ trade relations should be considered fairly and objectively aiming to protect legitimate rights of Vietnamese shrimp breeders, processors and exporters as well as benefits of the US’s consumers and importers.
