Vietnamese coffee chain hires US consultant

Thai Hoa Corporation, a leading Vietnamese coffee producer and exporter, has signed up American consultancy Smith Coffee to help develop its chain of coffee shops to international standards.

Thai Hoa plans to invest US$10 million to develop a retail coffee brand in Vietnam before expanding abroad in the near future. It will use clean and organic coffees.

Thai Hoa also plans to grow thousands of hectares of organic coffee in Vietnam and Laos for its chain and export.

Vietnam, the second largest coffee producer in the world, exported 802,000 tons in the first seven months of this year, earning around $1.2 billion, according to industry figures.
