Vietnam Glass Industry Co., a joint venture between Japan’s Nippon Sheet Glass Co. (NSG) and Viet Nam’s Construction Materials Corporation No1, on January 9 began building a US$145 million glass factory in My Xuan A Industrial Zone in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau’s Tan Thanh District.
The factory with a designed capacity of 28 million square meters of two-millimeter-thick sheet glass a year is expected to begin operation by June 2007.

The factory, the second NSG-invested glass project in Vietnam, will produce high-quality glass products.
