Aussie painter’s works exhibited in City

Twenty-six works by Australian painter Vincent Fantauzzo are being presented to Vietnamese audiences in Ho Chi Minh City until September 5.

Using a realistic painting style, with the support of photography and a computer, the painter won the People's Choice Award from the Archibald Prize for his portrait of actor Heath Ledger in 2008, and for the portrait of actor Brandon Waters, who played the young boy Nullah opposite Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman in the film Australia, in 2009.

Born in England in 1977, he came to Australia as a child. He has a Bachelor and a Master of Fine Art from RMIT University, Melbourne.

He has several exhibitions in many countries throughout the world.

Vietnam is the first destination for his exhibition tour around Asia this year. He will then travel to Bangkok in October, Singapore in November, Mumbai in December and Shanghai in February, 2010.

The exhibition is displayed at Y Ngoc – Sy Hoang, 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, District 1 and runs until September 5.
