Canadian rock band ‘Japandroids’ performs in City

Canadian rock band ‘Japandroids’ will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City for a performance at the Cargo Bar on August 21.

The band will rock the City with other groups including the Standards, the White Noiz, theJoy Oi!, and DJ Superkid ((Everyone’s A DJ).

The rock band has become well known after their second album ‘Celebration Rock’ in 2012. The release was lauded as one of the albums of the year across the international music press, making No. 9 on Rolling Stone’s top 50.

The Vancouver duo has received praise from critics and music lovers. They have performed in many hi-energy live shows and participated in tours at the world’s biggest festivals.

This will be their first show in Vietnam, and is expected to be one of the greatest rock shows Vietnamese rock fans have seen.

In related news, audiences who love chamber music can go to a show featuring pianist Tran Phuong Nam at Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music on August 24. The pianist will introduce to listeners masterpieces of Beethoven, Debussy and Liszt.
