Choral festival celebrates 128th birth anniversary of Uncle Ho

A choral festival marking the 128th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) opened in Ho Chi Minh City on May 11.

The event featuring 48 performances by 24 art troupes of districts’ cultural centers throughout the city attracted huge crowds of local audiences.
The festival presented to audiences singing and dancing items honoring the tradition of revolutionary struggles of people under the Party’s leadership, praising President Ho Chi Minh and heroes who laid down their lives during the war, and highlighting Vietnamese people, the land and achievements of the Renewal process and the development of the city.
The event also aims to educate patriotism among the young generations and discover choral talents.
The festival runs until May 13. The best items will be selected for the final night that will be held at HCMC Opera House on May 18.
