City’s photographic contest closes

Photographer Le Van Dinh, from Tay Ninh Province, recently won first prize at the 34th HCM City Photographic Contest 2009 for his picture “Cao su-vang trang” (Rubber-white gold).

The photo titled Mot gio cho trai dat (One hour for the Earth) by Vo Quoc Thanh.

Second prize went to Tran Trong Anh Tu for the photo “Bung sang” (Lighting up) and Huynh Pham Anh Dung for “Hoa nhap” (Integration), both from of HCM City.

Two special prizes were awarded for the photos “Mot gio cho trai dat” (One hour for the Earth), by Vo Quoc Thanh of HCM City, and "Ke chuyen Bac Ho" (Telling stories about Uncle Ho), by Vu Dung from the northern port city of Hai Phong.

Three third prizes and five consolation prizes were also presented.

Launched in June, the annual contest drew 1,104 works by 170 photographers from 22 provinces and cities.

The award ceremony was held at the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association, 122 Suong Nguyet Anh Street, District 1 in HCM City.

The competition was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association in cooperation with the HCMC Information and Exhibition Center.

A related photo exhibition, “Vietnam-Integration and Development,” featuring 100 pictures of the land and people of Vietnam will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association until October 15.
