Concerts mark International HIV/AIDS Prevention Day

The “Love to live – live to love” concerts have been organized from October to December in 21 cities and provinces across Vietnam to mark International HIV/AIDS Prevention Day, Dec 12.

They are being organized as part of an HIV/AIDS Prevention Project by non-governmental organization DKT to improve awareness of safe sex and help people with HIV integrate into the community.

The first concert took place in Ha Noi on October 5 and the last one will be held in Tay Ninh Province on December 27.

Singers Manh Quan, Khanh Huyen, Ngoc Minh, Ba Thang, Dong Quan and others have been taking the stage.

The shows are organized with the support of the British Department for International Development (DFID) and Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

DKT International’s program delivers a large number of condoms and oral contraceptives around the country.

In 2003 DKT Vietnam began to receive support from the DFID.

Its HIV/AIDA program targets intervention in 21 provinces, working through trainers, communal health staff, population specialists, students, pharmacists, and women in the community.
