Cultural Festival of the Chinese-Vietnamese 2007 Planned

The Cultural Festival of the Chinese-Vietnamese on the lunar New Year 2007 will take place at the April 30 Park in Ho Chi Minh City from February 28 to March 4.

The festival includes such interesting cultural activities as musical performances, fashion shows of traditional costumes, kylin and dragon dances, folk games, exhibition of calligraphic painting, Chinese food festival and the seminar “Building the cultural life of the Chinese-Vietnamese community in the renovation period in Viet Nam”.

There will be exchanges between the art troupes, visits of Chinese-Vietnamese historical, revolutionary and cultural sites in the cultural centers of the city’s districts.

Especially, the Tet Nguyen Tieu (Chinese festival of the 15th day of the first lunar month), including the lantern festival and meeting with historical witnesses of the city's Chinese-Vietnamese's revolutionary struggle tradition, will be organized on March 3.

The organizers, including the Ministry of Culture and Information, and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, hope that the festival will attract hundred thousands of visitors.
