Designer Nguyen Cong Tri to open Vietnam Int’l Fashion Week 2016

One of the Vietnamese leading designers, Nguyen Cong Tri will open the Vietnam International Fashion Week 2016 with his Haute Couture collection called Lua (Paddy).

Tri presented his collection in the Asian Fashion  Meets Tokyo show which was held as  part of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion  Week Tokyo between March 14  and 19. It features 41 creations that are inspired from paddy and  Lanh My A, a rare traditional fabric of southern Viet Nam.

Nguyen Cong Tri is the first Vietnamese designer to become a member of Asian Couture Federation (ACF).
Vietnam International Fashion Week 2016 will be held at Gem Center in Ho Chi Minh City on April 23-26.

Launched for the first time in 2014, the long-week fashion show attracted many leading local designers and international names around the world showcasing their latest collections, such as Nguyen Cong Tri, Phuong My, Hoang Minh Ha, Thuy Nguyen, Adrian Anh Tuan, and Yumi Katsura and Takada Kenzo  from Japan, Song Zio from South Korea, Frederick Lee from Singapore, Retano Balestra from Italia, Julien Fournie of France and more.

The event that meets international standards has blown a new fresh air into the fashion industry and given a deep impression on devotees.

Vietnam International Fashion Week is expected to connect Vietnamese designers to the world’s fashion industry.

The organization board will launch the event twice each year starting this year. Accordingly, Fashion week for spring and summer will be organized in April in Ho Chi Minh City and event for Fall / Winter will take place in October in Hanoi.
