Gia Lai to host gong festival

The first international gong festival will take place from November 12 to 15 in Pleiku City, the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai, the provincial People’s Committee announced August 7.

The festival will be held to honor the Central Highlands’ gong culture, which has been recognized as ‘Oral and Intangible Heritage’ by UNESCO.

The festival will include gong performances and other activities, such as a conference on investment promotion, a small industrial and handicraft village, and a food festival.

It is expected that around 3,000 guests from international gong troupes and hundreds of tourists will visit during the festival.
