Group of artists holds lacquer painting exhibition

An exhibition featuring lacquer paintings and sculptures opened at Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts on July 6.

The display themed “Son+” presents to viewers more than 20 paintings by veteran artists Vo Nam and Nguyen Thanh Quoc Thanh; and over 70 artworks by young painters, Pham Thanh Toan and Nguyen Ngoc Liem.
Toan who is well-known for his traditional Vietnamese lacquer painting displayed 9 lacquer woks and 2 sculptures while Liem showcased more than 60 still life and landscape paintings.
The two young painters are students under the guidance of artists Vo Nam and Nguyen Thanh Quoc Thanh.
