A month-long cultural event in Ha Noi starting later this month will commemorate the anniversaries of UNESCO recognition for Hue and its court music as international cultural heritages.

“Hue cultural week” and “Back to origin day”, to be held at the Vietnam Culture and Art Exhibition Center from November 21 to December 25, would mark 15 years since the Hue Royal Relics were conferred the status of world cultural heritage site, and five years since Nha Nhac (Hue royal court music) was recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of humankind, the Thua Thien-Hue Province People’s Committee said.
The event will also celebrate Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).
The event will feature photo, painting, and handicraft exhibitions, traditional music, a food fair, and a seminar on Hue’s heritage.
A display themed “Hue Past Royal Court Life” will showcase bronze, pottery, wood, and silk artifacts from the 19th and early 20th centuries from the Hue Royal Antique Museum.
A photo exhibition, titled “Hue Past and Present”, will trace the changes in Hue and feature pictures of ancient imperial architecture by Dao Hoa Nu.
Another will showcase Hue’s tourism and cultural attractions. especially the popular biennial Hue Festival.

An exhibition titled “Hue-Ha Noi” on Nom (Chinese transcribed Vietnamese) calligraphy will feature calligraphic works from the past.
There will be a six-day program featuring Hue royal dances, songs, Nha Nhac and costumes. A poem recitation program themed “700 years of Hue poetry and 1,000 years of Thang Long – Ha Noi poetry” will be performed by the Hue Royal Traditional Art Theater and Ha Noi poets.
Visitors will get a glimpse of Hue’s traditional craft and enjoy the imperial capital’s cuisine specialties like traditional cakes, sweet soups, bun bo Hue (Hue beef noodle soup), com hen (Hue mussel rice), and others.
Royal pastimes like composing poems, embroidery, calligraphy will be on show.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union.
