Harry Potter Fans Wait Breathless for Vietnamese Version of Final Tale

The first 80,000 copies of the Vietnamese version of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows” will be released at seven past seven tomorrow morning, making Viet Nam the first country to publish the seventh and final volume of the Harry Potter series in its own language.

To prevent pirates from getting their hands on the local version ahead of time, Youth Publishing House has made sure it is not available in the stores before the official launch. Even online subscribers will not get their copies earlier.

Also to this end, the publisher has advertised the cover design already so that buyers will know they are getting the real deal and not a pirated copy.

On the book’s title page, the phrase “Harry Potter” is embossed and “Deadly Hollow” is printed in red ink. The fourth cover page is stamped with the seal of Youth Publishing House.

To give the launch more oomph, a fun event called “Harry Potter and the Witches” will be held tomorrow in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue and Can Tho.

Hundreds of Harry Potter fans are likely to attend the event at the Fahasa bookstore, 40 Nguyen Hue Street in midtown HCMC.

Dressed in their Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry uniforms, the fans can enjoy cosplaying themselves as students in any of the four famous Hogwart houses: Griffindor, Ravernclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin.

Youth Publishing House suggests they bring along their cameras to capture all the memorable moments of the momentous day.
