HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera awaits new home

Ho Chi Minh City has spent over US$2.5 million to buy new instruments for the Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera and on training young musicians abroad and a move to a new venue will wrap up efforts to give the orchestra a facelift.

It is currently based at Nhan Dan Theater.

The Department of Culture and Information has spent a further VND7 billion ($395,000) to upgrade the theater even as the orchestra waits for a new home to be found.

The new musical instruments are kept at the Thanh Van Theater.
