The Vietnamese versions of former US First Lady Hilary Clinton’s memoirs have been officially released simultaneously at various bookstores nationwide yesterday.
More than one million copies of “Living History” were sold during their publication in 2003. The publisher Simon & Schuster paid Ms. Clinton an advance of US$8 million, a record figure at that time.
Her memoirs reflects a historical period from 1960 to 2000, with a focus on the 8-year term of her husband as the 42nd US President.
The memoirs not only helps readers to partly understand the thoughts of a special first lady of the US but also reveals many inside stories of the White House.
It is the first time that the copyright of a former US First Lady’s memoirs was transferred and translated into Vietnamese.
