A whopping big conical hat made to order for the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism will go on public display at the Van Ho Exhibition House in Ha Noi from November 14 to 24.
The hat, made of 1,000 bamboo branches and leaves, 10 neohouzeaua (a genus of medium-sized tropical bamboo), one bamboo tree and 30 white crosquis papers, measures 3.6 meters across and 1.5 meters high and is the VNAT’s gift to the APEC summit 2006.
It costs more than VND2 million and took the Hung Huong workshop eight days to make.
As one of its contributions to the APEC gathering, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has brought out a photo book called “Vietnam My Love” with notes in English and will present a copy to each of the visiting APEC leaders.
“Viet Nam My Love” captures the people, scenery and famous tourist attractions of Viet Nam like Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and My Son, all three of which are World Heritage Sites.
