Irish pop star Ronan Keating to perform in Miss Earth 2010 pageant

The Irish pop star Ronan Keating will arrive in Vietnam to perform in the final night of the Miss Earth 2010 beauty contest on December 4 at Vinpearl Land Resort in Nha Trang.

Ronan Keating is a recording artist, singer-songwriter and philanthropis. He was the lead singer of the world famous group Boyzone, including other members Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and Stephen Gately.

He started his solo career in 1999 and became popular worldwide for the song “When you say nothing at all” which was featured in the film “Noting Hill”. As a solo artist he's sold over 20 million records throughout the world.

Ronan was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for being the only artist ever to have 30 consecutive top 10 singles on the UK charts.

Keating has also worked as a charity campaigner most notably for the Marie Keating Foundation, a foundation that raises awareness for breast cancer.

The Irish pop star came to Vietnam for the first time in September 2009 for the inauguration ceremony of the IWC watch shop at the Sofitel Metropole hotel, Hanoi.

In addition, Oliver Pettigrew the host of the Sony Style show on AXN Asia will be MC on the night.
The climax night will take place at 8pm and be aired live on VTV1, VTV4, ABS-CBN, Star World and many TV channels in other countries.

Related news, more than VND75 billion was collected from a concert and charity auction titled “Miss Earth and entrepreneurs towards flood-hit central provinces” in Ho Chi Minh on November 11.

The money will be donated to the HCM City Red Cross to support flood victims in the central region.
